First beginnings

Alfie, our youngest, approached aged 10 with one thing on his mind - a new baby tortoise! He had dreamt about having a tortoise or a turtle since he was young and finally reached an age where he could care for one with the support from his family so we decided for his 10th birthday this is now possible. One true love happened that day as Gamera (then called Vern) came into our life. Gamera was 7 ½ month old, a hatchling, we brought him home, we fell in love with this tortoise dude.
