Like something out of the Gruffalo, we protect our hatchlings. Currently until they are older, they live on a high shelf above the dogs on the top floor of our house,
in an open top house with coco soil as their base and slate dinner trays.
We have access to the main garden with either decking or grass to roam on where we can keep an eagle eye on them to stop any unwanted attention from other animals.
We know how important it is to allow them sunlight for their shells and let them wander free most days so we take them outside too.
